Gurgaon leads: The Quality Of Life Better Than Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur

This may surprise many of the residents of Gurgaon, but it’s true. Gurgaon, Haryana has been ranked higher with better quality of life than Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. The quality of living in Gurgaon even beats that of the neighboring Delhi and Noida.

In the latest quality of life index report by data provider Numbeo, Gurgaon stood ahead at 141 rank, scoring higher than Hong Kong (145), Kuala Lumpur (173) and Singapore (155), on the basis of purchasing power and health care.

While Gurgaon's rank is impressive, the city of Mangalore in Karnataka has been ranked 48th among the list of global cities, ahead of cities like Hamburg, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Madrid, Prague, New York, and Tokyo. The rankings, which rely on user-generated data, are based on a number of parameters including purchasing power, safety, cost of living, property price-to- income ratio, traffic commute time, pollution and climate. Mangalore scored high on purchasing power, health care and safety. Pune, Maharashtra managed to grab the 102 spot, ranking ahead of New York City (106) and London (129).
